LET'S PLAY SOFTBALL!

RegistRATION for 2021 Season Opens November 1st 

TGS is committed to providing all of our players and their families with the best possible experience for the 2021 softball season.  We know how important it is for our players to be active, socialize, and have fun in a safe environment. Softball is the perfect sport for this.  Outdoors, local, and a great group of committed volunteers that will work hard to make this season a great experience for all.

So, with that in mind, we wanted to lay out the plan for the season ahead, so that there is complete transparency into how we’ll make this work. 

First and foremost, registration for the 2021 season will open on November 1st, 2020.  The early bird registration period finishes November 30th, and registration closes midnight December 16th.  After this, players will be placed on a waitlist.

Registrations received through November 30th will receive a 2021 commemorative practice t-shirt for each player (separate from their team jersey), and a $50 early bird discount on the full registration fee.

2. Season Registration Fees

At the time of player registration, a $25.00 deposit will be processed.  Depending on the season type, full or practice/scrimmage, the following registration fees will apply:

a. Full Season

If we are allowed to proceed with a full season, including games between teams, registration fees for the season will be processed on January 25th as follows (these fees include the $25 deposit):

b. Practice/Scrimmage Season

If we are allowed to proceed with practice and intra-team scrimmage season, registration fees for the season will be processed on January 25th as follows (these fees include the $25 deposit):

Should the season be canceled before the commencement of practices, a full refund of all fees, including the $25.00 deposit will be offered.  Players will be able to keep their practice t-shirt.

3. Team Structures, Coaching, and Jerseys

In order to maximize the experience for all players, and in the event that we are unable to play games between teams, the number of players per team will be increased to enable intra-team scrimmaging.  To add legitimacy to these scrimmages, our team jerseys this year will be two-color reversible, with logos and numbers on both sides, so that when teams scrimmage amongst themselves, it will feel more like a legitimate game.

Our coaches will also be trained on new drills and practice plans that have been proven to make a non-game playing season more fun – even though we may not play other teams.

4. Cancellation Policy

Should your player decide not to proceed with the season, the following cancellation policy applies.

Player cancels before January 25th         Full refund less $25.00 admin fee.

Player cancels before February 15th      Full refund less $100.00 admin fee.

Player cancels after February 15th          No refunds.

5. COVID Safety Protocols

Tiburon Girls Softball will operate these practice sessions under the youth sport guidelines established by Marin Health and Human Services.  These guidelines evolve each month and will be distributed to all families prior to the commencement of the season.

CLINIC SIGN UPS

In addition to the regular practice schedule, Tiburon Girls Softball organizes professional hitting and pitching coaches to help your player get the most out of their season.

2021 clinics will begin in January and are for  8u, 10u, 12u, 15u only.

You will be a member for all MGS fields.  If a field is closed (even if it is not yours) it will be texted to you as a follower.  You need to read carefully to make sure it is your field as you are a member of the whole of MGS!  If you do not get text saying a field is closed-- assume it is open. We are only texting closures. 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • For all girls ages Pre K - 15
  • Season runs from March - end of May / first week of June
  • All games are in Marin 
  • All home games are at Del Mar with snack bar and user friendly bathrooms

Practice and game schedules:

  • 6U practices 1x/wk for 60 mins. with one game on Saturday
  • 8U practicies 1x/wk for 60-75 mins. with one game on Saturday
  • 10U practices 2x/wk for 90 mins. with two games per week
  • 12U practices 2x/wk for 90 mins. with two games per week
  • 15U practices and games vary per team
  • First games will begin mid March for all divisions.

10U All Stars #1 in 2019!

Tiburon's 10U All Star team placed first in the 2019 Marin Girls Softball All Star Tournament- congrats girls! 12u came in a strong 2nd as well. Go Tiburon!

Congrats Typhoons #1 in 2019!

Tiburon Typhoons win the 10u 2019 Marin Girls Softball Gold Bracket league Championship! Tiburon Storm finishes 2nd. Good battle girls!
