Marin, California:  Marin Tremors, Marin’s own Travel Ball Softball Program, and Marin Girls Softball, is delighted to announce that Katelyn Harden is joining the program as the 8U Travel Ball Head Coach.

Harden brings a unique skill set to our 8U Tremors program this year having been the Number 1 pitcher for Dominican University, a hitter, and also plays 1st and 3rd.  

Recently named to this year’s PacWest All Stars players list, Harden completed this year’s season with Dominican University having pitched 161 innings, with 144 strikeouts, and an ERA of 2.43.  Katelyn also had 143 at bat appearances, with 37 hits, 15 RBI’s, 3 home runs, and .259 batting average. 

Harden, who will take up the position on May 22nd said, “I’m very excited to take on this role with the Tremors Travel Ball program.  I believe in developing the competitive athlete, while ensuring that we provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment for our players.  I’ve been coached by some of the best, and l look forward to bringing my experiences to the Marin Tremors program.”

Murray Dunn, chair of the Marin Tremors, said “We’re delighted to have Katelyn joining Marin Tremors coaching staff.  She’s working with the future of Marin Tremors in our 8U players, and shares our vision for developing both the competitive player and the child.  Adding coaches of Katelyn’s caliber with experience in coaching, playing, and most importantly, as role models for our players, is a very important focus for the expansion of our program.”

Harden is studying in her final year of Occupational Therapy at Dominican University, and comes from a softball family, where her father coaches the travel team from her home town of Hughson, California. [end]

About Marin Tremors

Marin Tremors is the competitive Summer/Fall softball program of Marin Girls Softball.  Open to all registered players of MGS, Tremors is for players who love their softball, and are looking to take their game to the next level. Summer programs include:

  • Travel Ball, competitive programs for all players in the Marin Girls Softball League competing in tournaments around Northern California; and
  • Club Ball, weekly games, and practices locally in Marin and North Bay for players not quite ready, or available to compete at a travel ball level.

Fall programs focus on giving travel ball players who are aging up the following season, experience at the next age group level.

Marin Tremors focuses on developing competitive softball players, while providing a safe, supportive, and fun environment.

About Marin Girls Softball

Marin Girls Softball League is a largely volunteer-driven recreational league for youth fast pitch softball in Central and Southern Marin County. We are a recreational program, with our rec season running from March to June - any age-eligible child can register, and all registered kids play.
